As 2020 drew to a close, the virtual fitness industry saw varying performances across some of the top apps in the United States. With data provided by Sensor Tower, we take a look at the trends for these fitness applications during the fourth quarter of the year.

Fitbit: Health & Fitness showed a notable increase in revenue, ending the quarter with around $751K in the last week of December, up from approximately $619K at the start of the quarter. Downloads peaked in the third week of December with a massive spike to 507K before settling at 233K. Weekly active users grew from 7.46M to 7.78M over the quarter.

Planet Fitness Workouts had no reported revenue until mid-October, but by the end of December, it reached nearly $5K. Downloads started strong at 112K and saw a significant jump to around 169K in the last week of December. The app's weekly active users experienced a steady rise, ending the year at 1.46M, up from 1.13M.

For Fitness Coach - Workout Plan, revenue showed a consistent upward trend, ending at $155K in the final week of December. Downloads, however, declined throughout the quarter, dropping from 104K to around 73K. The app's weekly active users peaked in mid-October at 164K but decreased to 103K by the year's end.

Home Workout - No Equipments saw a modest increase in revenue, from $23K to $21K over the quarter. Downloads fluctuated, with a notable rise to 81K in the last week. The app's weekly active users showed a decrease from 442K to 422K during the period.

Lastly, AllTrails: Hike, Bike & Run experienced a varied revenue pattern, with a notable spike to $236K in the week of November 23rd, but ended the quarter at around $161K. Downloads saw a decrease from 84K to approximately 76K, while weekly active users grew from 509K to 489K.
